Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are still not welcome at family events, says RICHARD EDEN
The concern raised by Richard Eden is about the apparent leaking of information regarding the private conversation between Prince Harry and King Charles. The issue isn't about objecting to the warm conversation itself but rather the breach of privacy and the apparent disclosure of details that were meant to be confidential.

The questions raised by Eden about how the BBC knew in advance about Harry's call to his father and how the Daily Telegraph acquired information about the conversation suggest that there might have been leaks or briefings from sources close to Harry and Meghan. This leak could potentially make the royal family cautious about extending future invitations or sharing private information with them, given the sensitivity and confidentiality expected within the family.

The concern here seems to be less about the conversation itself and more about the apparent breach of trust and confidentiality, which could impact future interactions and relationships within the royal family.
It seems that the concern expressed by Richard Eden centers on a perceived pattern of behavior by Harry and Meghan, where they've been accused of divulging private information about their interactions with the royal family. Eden specifically cites instances like their interview with Oprah Winfrey, their Netflix series, and Prince Harry's upcoming memoir, suggesting that these actions contribute to the strained relations between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family.

The recent incident regarding the birthday phone call between Prince Harry and King Charles further reinforces Eden's perspective. The fact that details of the private conversation between the two were seemingly leaked to the press raises concerns about the couple's respect for the privacy expected within the royal family.

It has been reported that Charles spoke to his younger son on the phone - and one media outlet had surprising detail of what had been said |
The issue here isn't just about one instance of a private conversation being disclosed but a perceived trend where private family matters are shared publicly, potentially affecting the relationships and trust between Harry, Meghan, and the rest of the royal family.
It appears that even though there might be signs of improvement in the relationship between King Charles and Prince Harry, the overall sentiment expressed by Richard Eden is that Harry and Meghan might still not be embraced or welcomed back into the fold of family events.
The BBC seemed to know beforehand that the King would talk to Harry on the phone while, afterwards, The Daily Telegraph seemed to know what had been discussed |
The absence of an invitation to family events, despite other family members attending, suggests that there might still be lingering reservations within the royal family about extending invitations to Harry and Meghan. This hesitation could stem from concerns about privacy breaches, particularly with leaks or disclosures about private conversations involving the King.

Eden seems to imply that these leaks and disclosures of private conversations, especially those involving the monarch, might further exacerbate the strained relationship and possibly reinforce the reluctance to include Harry and Meghan in family gatherings.
Maybe the call never happened and it is the PALACES way to shut down the entire controversy. The palace would just say a call would made because that's what they do - PR for the King in whatever form it needs to take. H&M, who put out they were snubbed by the King and not invited to his B'day party would graciously call and wish him happy birthday. So you have Mm who made a point of releasing photos of her out and about in LA ON THE KINGS birthday to distract from his media attention yet she sets up a call to wish him happy b'day? You have Harry refusing to engage in any discourse of healing with his family unless the King and the Prince of Wales apologize to Mm-for what no one knows, so this makes no sense. Also, after they left the UK Harry had said that the King would not see the children until there was an apology YET it's reported that there was a video call with them singing happy birthday to him.
